The movie opens on a young prince Arjun, who has been forced into war. His friend talks to him saying that war was not necessary and it could be avoided. Arjun goes to meet his mother Queen Sudeshna, who is pleased with Arjun's honesty. The scene shifts to Gahadavala, where Sarvak is bent on subjugating the Pandavas at any cost. Sarvak views the Bhagwat Purana and gains more hatred towards the Pandavas. He gives a golden necklace to his wife Sudeshna, which she greatly cherishes it in her treasure chest in her bedroom. A sudden earthquake disrupts the peace of the city, and the necklace falls down. The same night, Sudeshna is visited by her mother-in-law, who asks her to give her daughter Jashoda back to Sarvak. It goes on to reveal that it is not Jashoda but the ghost of Vishnu manifested as a baby girl Jashoda, who needs to be returned as Sarvak needs a wife for his future progeny. The scene shifts to Arjun's home where his friend tells him about his decision not to fight in war which has been going on for ages. Arjun goes out with his friend and sees a Ghati Adhikar which he decides to visit. He sees Sudeshna there. She tells him about her marriage with Sarvak, who got her pregnant with Jashoda. She also reveals that she is the one who used to feed Vishnu, deliver milk and do other household activities. Arjun questions if Sarvak was his father. Sudeshna angrily replies that Sarvak was not his father, after which Arjun leaves angrily.
